Bangalore Metro, or Namma Metro, is India’s pioneering rapid transit system and the nation’s second-longest operational network, spanning 76.9 kilometers across the city. Since its launch in 2011, it has transformed urban commuting in Bangalore, marking a milestone as the first underground rail system in South India. Managed and expanded by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the network combines elevated, underground, and at-grade stations, ensuring seamless connectivity across the city. As Bangalore experiences increasing urbanization, this rapid transit has emerged as an essential solution for daily commuters, significantly cutting down traffic congestion and reducing travel time for professionals, students, and residents.

Operational Stations and Ticketing

68 stations, distributed as follows:

  • 59 elevated stations
  • 8 underground stations
  • 1 at-grade station

With commuter-friendly Bangalore Metro fares ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 45, and monthly passes available between Rs 1000 and Rs 3000, it provides a cost-effective transportation option for frequent travelers. This affordability, combined with efficient connectivity, positions it as a preferred choice for daily commuting in Bangalore.
